The Practice

Welcome to Pitney Dermatology, a family-owned Dermatology practice in Toowong.

It was established in 1993 by Dr Michael Pitney who retired in 2023 to go fishing. His legacy has been carried on by his children, with his daughter Dr Lucy Pitney in 2021 and son Dr Tom Pitney joining in 2026. We also have the wonderful Dr Alison Lewin working here since 2024.

We specialise in providing the best care in medical dermatology, encompassing a wide range of conditions from rashes to skin checks and removal of small skin cancers with curettage. We pride ourselves on our small practice having a traditional approach with all services performed by our doctors.

Our group of dermatologists continue to welcome new and existing patients to our Toowong practice.

Who is a Dermatologist

A dermatologist is an expert in medical problems affecting the hair, skin and nails. They have undergone rigorous training with a minimum of 4 years of medical school, 2 years of resident training in hospital, 4 years of specialty training in dermatology and passed the exit exams to become a fellow of the Australasian College of Dermatologists.
